    Food for Thought

Happy new year! We are ‘hitting the ground running’ into 2016. In terms of our present worship services, we are engaged in a 5 week series on prayer (Jan 10-Feb 7). We know from the Bible that God wants to communicate with us through prayer. Prayer is where we build a personal relationship with our loving God.  Prayer is to be taken seriously in our times of worship and in our routine personal lives. Why? Because Jesus prayed and He strongly encourages each one of us to pray! One of our Oakridge staff pointed out that a special aspect of prayer is that anyone can do it at any time.
Here is a scripture reading the children in our Kidzone program are memorizing during the series:
6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:6-7
